The first few months of your puppy’s life shape far more than their ability to sit, stay, or walk on a leash. These early weeks influence how your puppy experiences the world, builds confidence, forms relationships, handles new environments, and learns how to relax, communicate, and live successfully with their family.
Connected Puppy Path™ is Connected Canine’s puppy education program for families who want to raise emotionally stable, confident, reliable puppies through ethical, relationship-based training and individualized support.
This is not just puppy obedience. This is the foundation for the dog your puppy is becoming.
Puppy training is often misunderstood.
Many families think puppy training is mainly about obedience: sit, down, stay, leash walking, and basic commands. Those skills matter, but they are only one part of raising a well-rounded dog.
Puppies are developing physically, emotionally, socially, and mentally at a rapid pace. During this time, they are learning what is safe, how to respond to the world, how to interact with people and dogs, how to settle, how to communicate, and how to build trust with their family.
Connected Puppy Path™ was created to support puppies through these developmental stages with guidance that is appropriate for their age, needs, and learning style.
Our goal is to help change the trajectory of your puppy’s life by helping them become emotionally stable, reliable, and confident from the very beginning.
Because at Connected Canine, Connection Comes First.

Recommended for puppies 8–16 weeks of age
During your puppy's earliest developmental stages, learning happens best in the comfort and familiarity of home. HomeSchool™ provides one-on-one coaching for both puppies and their families, focusing on confidence, communication, household success, and developmentally appropriate learning before transitioning into a structured training environment.

Recommended after your puppy has completed core vaccinations
Once puppies are ready, Day School™ expands their education through carefully planned social experiences, real-world exposure, enrichment, and individualized training. Puppies continue developing the skills introduced in HomeSchool™ while working toward the AKC STAR Puppy title.

Connected Puppy Path™ is designed for families who want more than basic puppy obedience.
This program may be a good fit if:
Whether this is your first puppy or your fifth, Connected Puppy Path™ gives your family a clear, supportive path through one of the most important stages of your dog’s life.
Connected Puppy Path™ includes two learning options based on your puppy’s age, vaccination status, and developmental needs.
Every puppy begins with a consultation so we can learn about your puppy, your home, your goals, and any early challenges you are experiencing.
We will help determine the best starting point for your puppy based on their age, confidence, routine, temperament, and vaccination status.
Recommended for puppies 8–16 weeks old
HomeSchool™ is our in-home puppy training option for young puppies who are still in their earliest developmental stages.
Because puppies under 16 weeks are still developing and have not yet completed their core vaccination series, we begin learning in the comfort and familiarity of your home. This allows your puppy to build confidence, communication, and household skills in the environment where they spend the most time.
HomeSchool™ can be scheduled once per week, twice per week, or more, depending on your puppy’s needs and your family’s goals.
During HomeSchool™, we help with:
HomeSchool™ helps your puppy and your family begin with clarity, structure, and connection.
Available after completion of core vaccinations
Once your puppy has completed their core vaccinations, they may be ready to continue their education through Puppy Day School™.
Day School™ gives puppies the opportunity to expand their world in a thoughtful, structured way. This includes individualized training, appropriate social experiences, exposure to new environments, enrichment, rest, and guided learning.
Puppy Day School™ is customized based on your puppy’s needs and goals.
During Day School™, puppies continue building:
Many puppies will develop the skills needed for the AKC STAR Puppy title. Filing for the title is optional and up to the owner.
Connected Puppy Path™ does not end with one training session or one milestone.
As your puppy grows, we help guide the next step in their education. For many families, that means continuing into Day School™: Foundations, where dogs work toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and begin building more advanced real-world skills.
Our goal is to support your puppy through every stage of development not just the first few weeks.

Connected Puppy Path™ is individualized to each puppy, but every program is built around the skills puppies need to become confident, capable family companions.
Your puppy will be introduced to new experiences in thoughtful, age-appropriate ways so they can learn to approach the world with curiosity and resilience.
We help puppies and families learn how to understand each other more clearly, creating a stronger relationship from the beginning.
Socialization is not just meeting other dogs. It includes positive exposure to people, sounds, surfaces, environments, handling, movement, and everyday life.
We support routines around potty training, crate training, chewing, biting, greetings, rest, and daily structure.
One of the most important skills a puppy can learn is how to settle. We help puppies begin developing an “off switch” so they can relax when life slows down.
Your puppy will begin learning early obedience skills such as name recognition, recall foundations, leash introduction, attention, and simple manners.
We help puppies experience the world in a developmentally appropriate way so they are better prepared for new environments, people, sounds, and situations.
Your puppy’s success depends on the people raising them. That is why owner education is a core part of Connected Puppy Path™.
The first six months of your puppy’s life are a powerful developmental window.
During this time, your puppy is learning what the world feels like. They are deciding what is safe, how to respond to new experiences, and how to interact with the people and animals around them.
At this stage, puppies are highly impressionable. They are transitioning into their new home, learning who their family is, and beginning to form early opinions about the world.
This is why HomeSchool™ begins with positive experiences, gentle handling, household routines, confidence building, and family coaching.
As puppies become more curious and independent, they are ready for more structured learning. This is an important time for reinforcing routines, building communication, and continuing safe exposure.
Training at this stage is not about perfection. It is about consistency, patience, and helping your puppy learn how to learn.
Once your puppy has completed their core vaccinations, Day School™ can help expand their education through structured training, thoughtful social experiences, enrichment, and real-world exposure.
This is where puppies begin learning how to carry their confidence and communication into new environments.
Every stage matters. Connected Puppy Path™ helps your family understand what your puppy needs now while preparing them for the dog they are becoming.
Connected Canine was built on the belief that lasting success begins with connection.
We do not believe puppy training should be rushed, generic, or focused only on obedience. Every puppy is different, every family is different, and every learning plan should reflect the individual dog in front of us.
Our approach is:
We look at the whole puppy: their age, confidence, environment, developmental stage, learning history, family dynamics, and future goals.
Connected Puppy Path™ is designed to help families raise puppies who are not only trained, but confident, connected, and prepared for life.

We recommend beginning puppy training as soon as your puppy comes home, typically around 8 weeks of age. The earliest weeks are some of the most important for building confidence, communication, and positive experiences. Starting early allows us to guide both you and your puppy through each developmental stage while creating a strong foundation for lifelong success.
Puppies under 16 weeks are still developing physically, emotionally, and socially. HomeSchool™ allows us to work with your puppy in the comfort and familiarity of your home while reducing unnecessary exposure before they have completed their core vaccinations. It also gives us the opportunity to coach your entire family and build successful routines from the very beginning.
Puppies are eligible for Day School™ after completing their core puppy vaccination series. This helps ensure a safe environment for every puppy while allowing them to participate in carefully planned social experiences, enrichment, and training. If you're unsure whether your puppy is ready, we're happy to help determine the best starting point.
Every puppy progresses at their own pace, so there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some families participate for several weeks, while others continue longer to build confidence, social skills, and prepare for the AKC STAR Puppy title. We'll recommend a plan based on your puppy's individual needs and your family's goals.
That's perfectly okay. While we recommend HomeSchool™ for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks, many puppies begin training after that age. If your puppy has completed their core vaccinations, they may be ready for Puppy Day School™ or another Connected Canine training program. We'll help determine the best fit during your consultation.
Connected Puppy Path™ is designed specifically for young puppies, but it's never too late to begin training. If your puppy has moved beyond our puppy program, we'll recommend the next step in their educational journey, whether that's Day School™, Private Training, or another program that best fits their age, experience, and goals.
Our goal isn't simply to teach commands—it's to help your puppy learn how to navigate the world with confidence. Throughout Connected Puppy Path™, puppies develop communication, household manners, confidence, appropriate social skills, emotional regulation, and foundational obedience while learning alongside their families.
Yes. We use food, toys, praise, play, and real-life rewards to motivate learning and strengthen communication. Every dog is different, so we individualize our approach based on what motivates your puppy while maintaining our relationship-based philosophy.
We guarantee our commitment, education, and support—not a specific outcome. Every puppy learns at a different pace, and lasting success depends on consistency, communication, and follow-through at home. Our goal is to provide your family with the knowledge, coaching, and individualized guidance needed to build a lifetime of success together.
Graduation is just the beginning. Many families continue their journey through Day School™: Foundations, where dogs build on the skills learned during puppyhood while working toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title. Our goal is to support your dog through every stage of life—not just puppyhood.

Continue your dog’s education through individualized training focused on manners, confidence, public skills, and AKC Canine Good Citizen milestones.
